09.22.2017 | Women's Volleyball
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team continued its perfect start to the conference season with a record-setting performance in a 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-18) win over Campbell before a tremendous Homecoming crowd at the Justice Center.
The Bulldogs hit a school-record .393 as a team in the 25-point rally scoring era (2008-pres.) in a four-set victory in the win over Campbell (10-5, 0-1 Big South Conference). UNC Asheville (6-7, 2-0 Big South Conference) played well in the first set, hitting .267 to Campbell's .318, but it would be the Camels that picked up the narrow 25-22 win.
It would be all Bulldogs from there.

In the fourth set, UNC Asheville hit over .600 for the majority of the game before closing out the set hitting .485 as a team in its 25-18 match-clinching win.
Sophomore Ansley Rooks narrowly missed on breaking her own single-match school record for hitting percentage by hitting.722 en route to finishing with 13 kills in the win over the Camels.
Junior outside hitter Cara Guthrie ended her evening with 17 kills and seven digs. She also had three of UNC Asheville's eight service aces in the match.
Sophomore defensive specialist Sheridan Salisbury procured a match-high 18 digs.
Freshman middle blocker Ava Venema hit .643 in the match, ending her efforts with nine kills. Freshman outside hitter KK Haley ended her evening with nine kills and five digs.
The Bulldogs finished their win with 11 total team blocks with freshman middle blocker Cecilia Stack leading UNC Asheville in the category with seven blocks, including three solo blocks.
Sophomore setter Carter Kennedy led the Bulldogs in assists with 24 with fellow sophomore setter Kailey Hackett right behind with 22 assists.
