Rebecca Black Named Big South Women's Golf Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNC Asheville freshman golfer Rebecca Black has been selected as the Big South Women's Golf Come Ready Nutrition Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office on Thursday, April 6, 2017.
 
Black of Elizabethtown, Ky. earns weekly accolades from the Big South Conference for the second time this season as she was also named the league Freshman of the Week on Oct. 14, 2016.
 
Black went 3-0 in match play in the Oyster Shuck Match Play at Patriot Point Links on April 3-4. Her performance led UNC Asheville to its first team championship in school history over William and Mary, 3-2. Individually, she defeated Morgan Cox (Radford), 4&3, Ylva Forsland (Marshall), 2&1, and Katie Edelblut (William and Mary), 3&2. She was also selected to the Oyster Shuck Match Play All-Tournament Team.
 
Black and UNC Asheville will next travel to the Big South Conference Championship at Patriot Golf Club on April 17-19.
