Incoming Bulldog Wins on Peggy Kirk Bell Girls' Golf Tour

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Incoming UNC Asheville women's golfer Taylor Hinson won the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls' Golf Tour Metrolina Classic this past weekend at the Rock Hill Country Club.
A native of Belmont, N.C., Hinson won the Prep Series division of the event with a two-round tally of 149 (75-74).
Hinson officially joined the Bulldogs for the 2017-18 season in November of 2016.
During her senior year at Gaston Christian School, Hinson maintained a nine-hole scoring average of 37.3, won two Invitationals with scores of 70 and 73 and finished runner-up at the NCISAA State Championship by shooting 146 (71-75).Â
Hinson was selected to the All-Observer Team, which recognizes the top-10 girls in the Charlotte area and she is a two-time All-State selection.Â
During the summer of 2016, she finished fourth in the 60th Junior Girls Championship. Hinson also finished third in the Trusted Big I qualifier, which gave her the opportunity to represent North Carolina at the National Big I tournament in Sacramento, Calif.  She had an outstanding tournament and finished seventh.Â
Taylor signed with UNC Asheville ranked as the No. 6 player in the state of North Carolina for the 2017 class according to Junior Golf Scoreboard with a scoring average of 76.67.
