Fernandina Beach, Fla. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team completed day one of the Amelia Island Collegiate at the Amelia National Golf Club. The Bulldogs are in 18th place after 36 holes.

Asheville's Adelyn Deery led the way for the Bulldogs as she was 14-over after 36 holes. Deery carded a 158 (79-79) on day one.

BULLDOG BITES
STRONG ROUND TWO: The Bulldogs improved their team score by 12 strokes in round two. As a team, the Bulldogs are (+66) after the first two rounds of action.
THE FIELD AFTER DAY ONE: Mercer University is in first place after day one. The Bears are (+7) as a team. Two other Big South Conference schools are in attendance for the two-day competition including Winthrop (+27) and Campbell (+10).
