BULLDOG BITES

First in the Series
UNC Asheville's win over Austin Peay was its first-ever over the Governors. The meeting was only the second meeting all-time between the two with the last meeting being before today being in the 1978-79 season with the Governors picking up a 79-71 win.

First half heroics
MaCio Teague's 20 points in the first half against Austin Peay marked the second time in his career that he has scored 20 or more in the first half. Teague also had 24 points in the first half in UNC Asheville's 91-69 Big South Conference road win over Longwood on Feb. 11, 2017.

Quotable
"I thought our guys showed a little bit of resilience down the stretch. We turned the basketball over a few too many times to put ourselves in that position, but I thought we responded well in a good environment. Austin Peay played well, and we were forced to get some stops down the stretch and fortunately we came up with some good efforts on the defensive end." – Head Coach Nick McDevitt

Up Next
UNC Asheville will next return home for a battle of two of the top mid-major programs in the country with Monmouth visiting Kimmel Arena for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday, Nov. 22. The game is UNC Asheville's final game of the 2017 NIT Season Tip-Off.
