CHARLOTTE, N.C. –After concluding its regular season on Tuesday, four UNC Asheville women's soccer players – Caroline Houser, Courtney Naber, Skyler Chillson and Maura Coolbaugh - earned Big South Conference accolades, which was announced by the league office on Thursday.

Houser and Naber were both named to the Big South Second Team All-Conference. Rookie forward Chillson was one of 11 players named to the All-Freshman Team, and junior defender Coolbaugh nabbed All-Academic honors.

Houser, a senior forward, started and played all 18 matches for the Bulldogs in 2017. She totaled 1,468 minutes on the pitch this year where she recorded four goals and three assists. She was tied for the team-lead in assists while placing second in goals and points (11). The Chapel Hill, N.C. native owns the program record in career assists with 24. In 2015, Houser tied the single-season record with nine assists while also tying for 8th with 23 points.

Naber concluded her senior campaign at Asheville with her best season as a Bulldog. This year she led the team in goals (7), points (15), shots (63) and shots on goal (27). She was tied for the team-lead with two game-winning goals (Wofford and Jacksonville). Her seven goals and 15 points were single-season career highs for the midfielder. She concluded her four-year career with 17 goals, which ranks 11th in UNC Asheville's all-time history. The Loveland, Ohio native won the Big South Attacking Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks to start the season, which was the first occurrence in UNC Asheville's history.

Chillson made an immediate impact as a rookie as she appeared in all 18 games including 17 starts. She was third on the team with three goals (two were game-winners). She also tallied an assist to accumulate seven points during her freshman season. Chillson took 35 shots and put 20 on frame. She earned her first career goal and point in her first collegiate game, which was a 1-0 victory at VMI. Her second career goal and game-winner came in the 2-0 win at South Carolina State. She recorded 1,445 minutes, which was the second-most by a Bulldog freshman this year and the seventh-most on the squad.

As a junior, Coolbaugh appeared in all 18 matches including 10 starts. She totaled 853 as a defender while taking seven shots including three on goal. In her three years as a Bulldog, she has played 2,559 minutes, two goals and four points. As the Bulldog representative on the All-Academic Team, she sports an unblemished 4.0 cumulative grade-point average. As a major in health and wellness and a minor in biology, she has made the Dean's List four semesters in a row. She is also a member of the Order of Pisgah where she assists hosting events for the Chancellor while maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA. This semester she began a two-year undergraduate research study to analyze the relationship between athletic performance and heart rate variability.
