Bulldogs Drop Conference Road Match at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team was unable to end the undefeated run to the start of the conference season for High Point in a 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-18) loss to the Panthers on Saturday, Oct. 14.
After dropping the first two sets in the match, UNC Asheville (8-11, 4-4 Big South Conference) looked as if they would take the win in the third set. The Bulldogs controlled things early in the game, but down the stretch High Point (15-6, 8-0 Big South Conference) was able to pull away for the match victory.
The Bulldogs were led in the match by Ansley Rooks and Cara Guthrie, who both finished with 11 kills each. Rooks also had eight digs and two blocks.
Madisen Zyburt led UNC Asheville in digs in the match with 24. Kailey Hackett ended her day with 15 assists, while Carter Kennedy had 12.
Ava Venema led the Bulldogs with six blocks.
Haley Livingston and Molly Barnes led the Panthers in their win over the Bulldogs with 12 kills each.

Season-Best in Three Sets
Madisen Zyburt's 24 digs were the most on the season for a Bulldog in a three-set match. The season-best overall is Zyburt's 25 in a five-set match at Gardner-Webb.
