Coach Demko Adds Third Set of Twins to Roster

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — UNC Asheville head women's soccer coach Michelle Demko has announced the addition of twin sisters Rachel and Meghan Bewick to the Bulldogs' roster. The Bewicks will join the team immediately as they are both early graduates of D.H. Conley High School in Greenville, N.C.
"I am excited Meghan and Rachel Bewick decided to graduate high school early to join our program," stated Demko. "I think it says a lot about their commitment to becoming better soccer players and an enthusiasm to get started working toward their college degrees. It will be a tough turnaround time for them academically, but the benefits of coming in early will be worth it."
The Bewicks join Emma Houser and Caroline Houser and Erika Snyder and Rachel Snyder as the third set of twins currently on the roster. They will be the fourth set of twins currently competing for UNC Asheville, including freshmen swimmers Madison Rogan and Skylar Rogan.
The sisters were both three-sport athletes in high school, playing volleyball and basketball in addition to soccer. The twins are best friends and have played sports together their entire lives and will continue to do so as Bulldogs.
"In speaking with the Bewick family, they saw all the positives that come with this early decision," Demko explained. "Both will add an immediate impact in our program with their commitment to excellence on the field and in the classroom. They can play a few roles on the back line for us, which will add to our arsenal attacking out of the back. I look forward to watching their growth this spring."
