ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Bulldog women's soccer team hosts the Highlanders of Radford University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Greenwood Field in Asheville, N.C.
NOTABLES:
Last Time Out: The Bulldogs had a disappointing start to Big South Conference play, losing their first match on the road, 1-0 at Charleston Southern on Saturday. UNC Asheville got six shots on goal to CSU's four, but couldn't produce the needed result.
Scouting Radford: The Highlanders were also on the road for their first conference game, but got goals from five different players and came away with a 5-2 victory over Winthrop. Jasmine Casarez, a sophomore midfielder from California, got one of those goals and leads Radford in scoring this season.
It's Big South Conference Time: Non-conference play is over for the season and both teams now focus exclusively on gaining strong seeding in the Big South Conference Championship Tournament. UNC Asheville and Radford were tied in the preseason rankings from the Big South Coaches Preseason Poll, each garnering 48 points to tie for fifth out of 10 conference teams.
