Asheville, N.C.- Monday, August 1 marks nineteen days until the first Asheville women's soccer game of the season against Tennessee Tech on Friday, August 19th at Greenwood Field. In preparation for the first official kickoff, meet #19, Paige Trent.

 

The 5'6” senior from Winston-Salem, N.C. started in all 18 games she played in last season. She was tied for most goals scored with seven, and put 26-of-45 (.578) shots on goal in 2015.

What is you Major: Psychology

 

What is your favorite part about UNC Asheville?

"My favorite part of UNC Asheville is the family-like environment- you always feel welcome while on campus."

 

What are your post-school plans?

"As of now my plan is to attend grad school and attain my masters in counseling."

 

Why did you choose Asheville?

"I decided to attend Asheville because it was a perfect combination of having excellent academics and athletics."

 

How long have you been playing soccer?

"I have been playing soccer since I was 10, so about 4th grade."

 

Who has been your biggest influence on the field?

 "My teammates by far have been the biggest influence on the field. They are constantly pushing me to my best and holding me accountable."

 

What are three things you can't live without?

"Three things I cannot live without.. Coffee, ACP (arroz con pollo) , and Sunshine."

 

What's your favorite food?

 "Anything with chicken."

 

What nicknames do you have?

"P, Paigey, Shelton (given to me by Michelle)"

 

Do you have a favorite class you've taken here?

"Family Violence with Dr. Ulrich- by far my most favorite class taken at UNC Asheville. It was very eye opening and informative about the nature of violence within our society and families."

 

When I'm not on the field, I am…

 "I am hanging out with my friends, cheering on other bulldogs, adventuring around Asheville, or shopping."

 

What are you most looking forward to this season?

"I am most looking forward to having almost all players returning this year- we are all familiar with one another which should make this season very special."

What's something most people may not know about you?

"I love watching scary movies!"

 

Do you have a favorite place you've visited?

"I unfortunately haven't gotten to travel very much or been able to go out of the country, but out of the places I have traveled to I would say either Savannah, Georgia or Chattanooga, Tennessee have been my favorite so far."
