Asheville Outlasts Radford on the Road for 4-3 Victory

RADFORD– The UNC Asheville Women's Tennis team delivered a 4-3 conference victory over Radford University on the road this afternoon.
NOTABLES
-The Highlanders came out fighting, taking all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The Bulldogs didn't go quietly, pushing the matches in flights one and three to 6-4 finishes.
-With Radford leading 1-0, Asheville rallied behind standout singles performances to take this first conference road win. Asheville posted wins in flights five and three to regain the lead, 2-1. Christin Louw posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory on court five followed by a 6-3, 6-3 victory on court three from senior Lauren Brooker.
-The Highlanders tied the match with a two-set win on court two, but Asheville's Kylee Shipley took the next match on court six (7-5, 6-4) to put the Bulldogs ahead with two matches to play.
-Radford's Grace Sarver put the pressure back on the Bulldogs with a three-set victory on court four to tie the match at 3-3.
-In the final match of the day, freshman Hannah Francisco came through with a big win for Asheville. Francisco captured a crucial three-set victory (6-3, 4-6, 6-4) to clinch the match and move the Bulldogs to 2-4 in the Big South Conference.
