Hall Announces Two Signees; First Women's Golf Roster Complete

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville head coach Breanne Hall has announced two additional signees to the inaugural women's golf program that will begin play in during the 2016-2017 academic year.
Adelyn Deery joins the Bulldog family from Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Janie Thomas is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
“I am thrilled to add Adelyn and Janie to the inaugural UNC Asheville women's golf program. They are talented, driven student-athletes who both understand what it takes to be successful at the collegiate level,” Hall stated. “These two ladies have a contagious passion for the game and strive for continuous improvement. Adelyn and Janie are outstanding young women and I am excited to welcome them to the Bulldog family.”
The addition of Deery and Thomas pushes Hall's inaugural roster to six student-athletes, joining Kellen Alsip, Rebecca Black, Linna Brooks and Erica Olberding, who signed in the fall.

Adelyn Deery
Lancaster, Pennsylvania - Manheim Township High School
Adelyn is a two year varsity letter winner at Manheim Township High School. She was selected the Lancaster-Lebanon female golfer of the year in 2015. Adelyn was a Pennsylvania State Championship qualifier in 2014 & 2015 and was also selected to the Pennsylvania High School All-Star team both years. She won the Lancaster-Lebanon league championship in 2014 & 2015 and finished runner-up in the 2015 PIAA District tournament. Adelyn competes on the AJGA and Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in the summer months, carding a runner-up finish at the HJGT Major Championship at Makefield Highlands. Adelyn was also a two year varsity letter winner on the tennis team and competed in the State Championship in 2012 & 2013. Adelyn is the daughter of Craig and Cindy Deery.
Janie Thomas
Winston-Salem, North Carolina – R.J. Reynolds High School
Janie was named the Central Piedmont 4A Player of the Year in 2014 & 2015, finishing with a 9-hole scoring average of 36 both years. She competed in the 4A NC State Girls Golf Championship in 2014 & 2015 and finished in the top 20 both years. Janie is the No. 9 ranked player in the state of North Carolina for the 2016 class according to Junior Golf Scoreboard. She has recorded several top 10 finishes on the Peggy Kirk Bell Tour including wins at Forest Oaks CC and Duke University GC. Janie was also a participant in the North-South Junior Amateur played in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Janie is the daughter of Phil and Ginny Thomas.
