ASHEVILLE – The UNC Asheville Men's Tennis team defeated Tennessee Tech to go 2-0 in their first weekend at home this season.
NOTABLES
-The Bulldogs battled the Golden Eagles in doubles play to turn in a critical first point. They lost the first match on court one (6-0), but delivered a win on court two from Henry Patten and Josh Swindler (6-4) to keep Asheville alive. Thomas Oresitis-Panouls and Reid Dillion came through with a (7-6) victory to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead going into singles play.
-Asheville and Tennessee Tech traded singles wins in the first four matches. The Golden Eagles collected wins on courts one and two, and Henry Patten (6-0, 6-0) and Josh Swindler (6-3, 6-2) contributed wins for the Bulldogs on courts three and four to give Asheville a 3-2 advantage going into the final two matches.
- Senior, Brett Landau delivered a clutch performance for a two-set win (6-4 ,6-4) on court five that decided the match for the Bulldogs.
