ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville head women's soccer coach Michelle Demko announced her latest signing class today, with five student-athletes joining the UNC Asheville program for the fall of 2016.

Asheville welcomes five freshmen signees, including a pair from both North Carolina and South Carolina, and one player from New York. The group includes Erika and Rachel Snyder, marking the second set of twins on the Bulldog roster, joining rising juniors Caroline and Emma Houser. Newcomers Amanda Morse and Taylor Barber played together at Blythewood High School in South Carolina, while Daniella Cimadomo is a goalkeeper from Mahopac, New York.

"I am excited to announce our 2016 class today. This class has dynamic players that will continue to push our program forward in search of competing for a championship. Each player has a high commitment level both on the field and in the classroom that fits into our expectations of growth and accountability,” stated Demko.

“Their attributes have a strong foundation that will make this a seamless transition into our program and our process. With the addition of these players, I believe our program will continue to move forward and make strides in a positive competitive direction."

SIGNEES:

Taylor Barber – Defender

Hometown: Blythewood, South Carolina

High School: Blythwood High School

Club: South Carolina United FC

Demko's thoughts:  “Taylor is a tenacious defender with an incredible competitive mentality. She encompasses what we look for in a defender which is athleticism, strength on the ball, willingness to get forward and tactical understanding of the game. She comes from a very good soccer club so I know her fundamentals will be very sharp. Her experience in playing multiple systems will aid in her coming in and having an immediate impact in our program at either outside or center back.”

Daniella Cimadomo – Goalkeeper

Hometown: Mahopac, New York

High School: Mahopac High School

Club: Quickstrike FC

Demko's thoughts:  “Daniella separates herself with other goal keepers by her highly competitive mentality, her stature and willingness to organize her back line. She is a goal keeper that has intimidating presence, quickness coming for the ball without hesitation which allows her to command her box like a veteran player. She brings a level of professionalism with her that others will follow. She is going to flourish under the guidance of Joe Scachetti, who is excited to work with her as she has a huge upside to her game.”

Amanda Morse – Defender

Hometown: Blythewood, South Carolina

High School: Blythwood High School

Club: South Carolina United FC

Demko's thoughts:  “Amanda is a strong defender who will most likely play centrally for us. She is a great ball winner who likes to initiate contact. Her ability to communicate and organize players around her gives us a stronger defending presence that will allow us to take risks higher up the field. I am excited to add a player of her caliber, commitment and enthusiasm to our back four.”

Erika Snyder – Defender

Hometown: Cary, North Carolina

High School: Athens Drive High School

Club: TFC Alliance

Demko's thoughts:  “Erika will join our program as a defender and immediately provide us with depth as an outside back. She has a great commitment to individual and team defending. Her natural vision for passing helps her solve pressure easily and allows her to become a link between the defense and attack. This ability will help us transition into our attack at a higher speed of play.”

Rachel Snyder – Forward

Hometown: Cary, North Carolina

High School: Athens Drive High School

Club: TFC Alliance

Demko's thoughts:  “Rachel is a very exciting forward to watch due to her quickness, incredible drive on the field and dynamic ability. She has a relentless pursuit in the attack and very confident taking players on in the final third. She will most likely play wide forward so we can use her strengths to isolate her 1v1 to create scoring opportunities. She has the ability to change games in any moment and that comes from her training at such a high level club environment.”
