Bulldogs Set Three Program Records in Day One of CCSA Championships

ATHENS – The UNC Asheville Women's Swimming team saw three team records fall in the first day of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championships at the University of Georgia's Gabrielsen Natatorium.
NOTABLES
-The Bulldog's kicked off competition with a new team record in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. Asheville's team of Jessica Woolfe, Alessandra Troncoso, Alexandra van Dorsten and Morgan Rulevich posted a time of 1:46.16 for a seventh place finish.
- Asheville's team of Rulevich, van Dorsten, Galen Broido and Alejandra Sanchez finished sixth the in the 800 Yard Freestyle relay with a time of 7:32.59. The Bulldogs narrowly missed a fifth place finish by five hundredths of a second, with Campbell University finishing just ahead of Asheville with a time of 7:32.54
-Bulldog Freshman, Morgan Rulevich swam the lead leg in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay for the Bulldogs, posting a split of 1:51.17. Her split earns her both the team and the freshman record in the 200 Yard Freestyle.
-In Asheville's second 800 Freestyle Relay team, Emily Werth swam a season-best split (1:56.15) as the first leg. Her teammate, Hannah Stuart also produced a season-best split in the anchor leg position (1:58.98). Stephanie Smith produced a lifetime-best split of 1.55.25 in the third leg of the Asheville relay.
- The action will continue tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. with five prelims, beginning with the 500 Yard Freestyle. Thursday's evening session will feature finals from tomorrow morning's events.
