CLINTON, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's volleyball team lost a heartbreaking five set match to Presbyterian College Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs dropped the first set, 21-25, but evened the odds, taking the second set, 25-14. Presbyterian rallied in the third with a 26-24 victory, but again Asheville battled back, seizing set four, 25-21. The home team came out victorious in set five, taking it 15-9.
The Bulldogs are now in eighth place in the Big South Conference heading into their final regular season match at Winthrop.
NOTABLES
-Shelby Erickson led the Asheville offense with 15 kills, followed by Madison Vaughn with 14, and Ansley Rooks with 13.
-UNC Asheville recorded 62 kills and a .322 hitting percentage, while PC hit .236 after totaling 53 kills.
