THE MATCHUP
Teams: Asheville (3-1, 0-0 BSC)
Warren Wilson (4-6, 0-0 USCAA)
Location: Kimmel Arena / Asheville, NC.
Time: Tuesday, November 29, 11:30 a.m.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Bulldogs will host Warren Wilson in the annual Education Day on Tuesday afternoon at 11:30 a.m. at Kimmel Arena.
NOTABLES
Last Time Out: The Bulldogs placed four players in double figures as Asheville downed Tennessee Tech 77-65. Junior guard Khaila Webb led the way with 20 points and was 7 for 11 from the field. Webb also added six assists with no turnovers.
Head to Head: The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 2-1. The two teams split the meetings in 1985-86', but won last year 108-47, the most points in head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick era. Coach Kirkpatrick is 8-0 against non-Division 1 opponents.
Similar Story: It seems as if the Bulldogs are following the same script as last season. Last year, Asheville lost the first game of the season went on to win nine straight. This season the team dropped the first and have now won three straight.
QUOTABLES
"We are wrapping up a three game home stand and are continuing to improve as individuals and as a collective unit. In our last outing we were not as disciplined as we needed to be on the defensive side of the ball. One of our game goals is to make more FT's than our opponent attempts and Tennessee Tech was at the free throw line all night so we need to be more efficient defensively. I have been pleased that we have had a different player stepping up each night on the offensive end and ringing the bell when teams are scheming to take away one aspect of our game. We are excited about tomorrow's opportunity to play in front of over 2,600 Buncombe County and Asheville City School students. I know executing the logistics of this education day takes a lot of work from our administration so I want to personally thank everyone on staff for pitching in to make this a special event for our student-athletes, Warren Wilson and those area students." —Head Coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick
