Women’s Golf Adds One to the 2017-18 Campaign

ASHEVILLE, N.C.-- UNC Asheville head women's golf coach Breanne Hall announced the signing of Taylor Hinson to the 2017-18 roster.
"I am very excited to welcome Taylor to the Bulldog family," Hall stated. "Taylor's game has really matured over the past year. She is a strong ball striker who carries herself with a professional and positive demeanor on the course. Her athleticism, work ethic, and character are all things I look for in a successful student-athlete. Taylor will be a huge asset in helping our young, competitive program continue to grow."
Hinson is a native of Belmont, NC and attends Gaston Christian School. During her senior year, she maintained a 9-hole scoring average of 37.3, won two invitationals with scores of 70 and 73, and finished runner-up at the NCISAA State Championship shooting 71,75. Taylor was selected to the All Observer Team, which recognizes the top 10 girls in the Charlotte area, and is a two-time All-State selection. This past summer, she finished 4th in the 60th Junior Girls Championship shooting 76, 75, 72 and 10th in the PKBGT Open shooting 76, 77, 77. She finished 3rd in the Trusted Big I qualifier shooting 76, 73 which gave her the opportunity to represent North Carolina at the National Big I tournament in Sacramento, California. She had an outstanding tournament and finished 7th with scores of 72, 72, 71, 77. Taylor is the No. 6 ranked player in the state of North Carolina for the 2017 class according to Junior Golf Scoreboard with a scoring average of 76.67.
