Teague's Career Night Helps Lift Bulldogs to Thrilling 64-58 Victory at Furman

GREENVILLE, S.C. —Freshman guard, MaCio Teague's career night, helped lead the UNC Asheville Bulldogs to a 64-58 triumph over Furman University in Timmons Arena Tuesday night.
The first half was a very evenly matched half of play, only one lead change, with ties at five separate times. Both teams entered the locker room with nearly identical stats, with the Paladins leading 27-25. Teague lead the Bulldogs with 8 points, 4 steals, 1 assist, and 1 rebound in the first half.
The second half was back and forth with three separate lead changes and six different points in which the game was tied. Asheville seized the lead with a clutch three pointer from Teague with 5:15 remaining in the game and never looked back.
Furman cut the Bulldogs' lead to three points with 1:59 left in the game but Asheville held on tight for the 64-58 victory.
NOTABLES
-MaCio Teague set a new career high in both points and steals. He finished with 22 points, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds. Teague was 7/16 from the field and 4/9 from behind the arc.
-Junior guard, Ahmad Thomas, tallied 15 points with 8 total rebounds and 2 steals.
-Junior guard, Kevin Vannatta, also recorded double digits, with 13 points, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds. Vannatta was 8/9 from the free throw line.
