-The battle on the glass was very even with Asheville having a slight edge, grabbing 44 rebounds and WCU grabbing 42.
-Asheville's bench was outscored by WCU's bench 9 points to 14.
QUOTABLES
"A lot of credit should go to both Western Carolina and our kids tonight. Western played tough and our kids responded when they needed to. Neither team was able to get into a rhythm offensively and we had a lot of shots rim in and out throughout the game. Good teams play defense and respond even when the flow of the game is choppy. I was proud of our kids' effort in the fourth quarter in finishing the game. If you're going to just shoot 35% from the field then you better take care of the ball. Having only eight turnovers tonight helped us." HEAD COACH BRENDA MOCK KIRKPATRICK
