Asheville No. 7 Seed for Big South Women's Soccer Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The UNC Asheville women's soccer team has earned the No. 7 seed for the Big South conference tournament. The conference office announced the seedings and pairings with the close of the conference's regular season Tuesday.
The Asheville Bulldogs, who completed their regular season Saturday with a 2-0 loss at Liberty, finished Big South play with a 3-6 record and compiled nine points to finish seventh place in the league standings.  The High Point Panthers finished atop the conference with a 7-1-1 record and 22 points to claim the No. 1 seed.
Asheville, 8-11 overall, will travel to face the No. 2 seeded Liberty Flames this Sunday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Osborne Stadium. Liberty, 11-7 overall, finished Big South action with a 7-2 record and 21 points.
The winner of the contest advances to play the winner of No. 3 seed Campbell and No. 6 seed Radford in the second semifinal game on Nov. 4 at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C.
The 2016 Big South Women's Soccer Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites this weekend, before moving to Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C. for the semifinals and final on Nov. 4 and 6.
The quarterfinals and semifinals will air on the Big South Network, with the final airing on ESPN3. The Big South's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. The conference championship schedule is as follows:

Match 1: Friday, Oct. 28: #5 Longwood at #4 Gardner-Webb, 7 p.m.
Match 2: Saturday, Oct. 29: #6 Radford at #3 Campbell, 6 p.m.
Match 3: Sunday, Oct. 30: #7 UNC Asheville at #2 Liberty, 2 p.m.
Match 4: Sunday, Oct. 30: #8 Charleston Southern at #1 High Point, 2 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 4 (Bryan Park, Greensboro, N.C.)
Match 5: Winner Match 1 vs. Winner Match 4, 4 p.m.
Match 6: Winner Match 2 vs. Winner Match 3, 7 p.m.
