Teams: Western Carolina, UNC Asheville, Longwood, James Madison, James Madison (B team), Appalachian State, Wofford, Presbyterian, Gardner Webb, Eastern Kentucky, Radford, UNCG,Marshall

Location: The Ridges Country Club, Hayesville, N.C.

 

Time: Sunday, October 16, Monday, October 17, and Tuesday, October 18.  Tee times are set for 9:00 a.m. at holes #1 and #10 each round.

 

HAYESVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team completed day two of the Bill-Berg Invitational hosted by Western Carolina University. The Bulldogs are in tenth place out of twelve teams after the second round of play.

 

Asheville's Janie Thomas continues to lead the way for the Bulldogs and is ranked eighth overall in the tournament.  Thomas is at seven over par through two rounds, shooting a total of 151 (74, 77).

 

Adelyn Deery also shot a 77 for the Bulldogs today.  Kellen Alsip has shot 159 (78, 81) through two rounds.  Rebecca Black follows with 163 (79, 84) and then Erica Olberding at 170 (82, 88).

 

NOTABLES

-As a team, the Bulldogs are +56 over after two rounds of play.

 

-Thomas' score ranks her eighth overall in competition.

 

-Four other Big South Conference schools are in attendance for the three-day competition including: Presbyterian college, Gardner-Webb University, Radford and Longwood.

-The Bulldogs will wrap up the Bill-Berg Invitational tomorrow, October 18. Tee times are set for a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
