Bulldogs Travel to Hayesville to Compete in Bill-Berg Invitational

Teams: Western Carolina, UNC Asheville, Longwood, James Madison, James Madison (B team), Appalachian State, Wofford, Presbyterian, Gardner Webb, Eastern Kentucky, Radford, UNCG, Marshall

 

Location: The Ridges Country Club, Hayesville, N.C.

 

Time: Sunday, October 16, Monday, October 17, and Tuesday, October 18.  Tee times are set for 9:00 a.m. at holes #1 and #10 each round.

 

 

ASHEVILLE, N.C. –The UNC Asheville women's golf team will tee off for the fourth time this season at the Bill-Berg Invitational in Hayesville, N.C. The Bulldogs will play 18 holes on Sunday, October 16, Monday, October 17, and Tuesday, October 18.  Asheville will take on the 5876 yard course at the Ridges Country Club.  The three-day tournament will feature thirteen teams.

 

The Ridges Country Club is a “hidden gem,” nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina close to the Georgia border. The championship 18-hole, Willard Byrd Golf Course that was opened in 1992 is the focal point of a spectacular club. In addition to the golf course, the grounds include a practice facility which is equipped with a driving range and putting green. The Ridges Country Club has been recognized by Golf Advisor as a top 20 semi-private golf course in the United States, as well as a top 10 golf course in the state of North Carolina.

 

NOTABLES

-Rebecca Black placed 21st overall in the Bulldogs last competition.

 

-The Bill-Berg Invitational will be the fourth tournament in program history.

 

UP NEXT

-Following competition in Hayesville, the Bulldogs will travel to Fernandina Beach, FL to compete in the Amelia Island Collegiate beginning on February 20 at the Amelia National Golf Club.
