ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Bulldogs' women's soccer team returns home to host the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Greenwood Field in Asheville, N.C.

NOTABLES:

Last Time Out: Asheville stretched to a two match winning streak when they picked up a hard fought 1-0 victory at High Point Saturday. Senior forward Paige Trent converted on a penalty kick in the 64' which held on to be the game winner for the Bulldogs.

Scouting Gardner-Webb: The Runnin' Bulldogs also enter the matchup on a two game winning streak, with both victories coming on 1-0 shutouts.  Gardner-Webb most recently defeated Radford in which Justine Ibarra scored a 93' game winner in overtime.

Player of the Week: The Bulldogs' goalkeeper Keller Dixon was named this week's Big South Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.  Dixon has help lift Asheville to victory with two straight shutouts.  The redshirt sophomore is leading the conference in saves having compiled 70 throughout the season, for an average of 5.83 a game.

QUOTABLES

"Gardner-Webb is another good opportunity for our team to come together and compete.  Both teams are good passing squads with an under lying technical element to attacking and defending transition.  It should be a very good matchup with both teams looking for another win to gain separation in the conference this time of year.  We are coming off good training sessions this week.  This group is focused and ready to play tomorrow.” - Head Coach Michelle Demko
