ASHEVILLE – The UNC Asheville Men's Tennis team defeated Appalachian State University 4-3 in their second match of the season in Boone, N.C.
NOTABLES
-Appalachian was in control early, sweeping all three doubles matches (6-4, 6-3, 6-4).
-The Bulldogs rallied back in sinlges play, picking up wins on courts one, two, four and five.
-Asheville and Appalachian battled back and forth in the first two singles matches of the day. Alex Croker delivered the first win on court one in two sets (6-4, 6-3).
-After the Mountaineers collected the W in the second match, Thomas Oresitis-Panoulas battled for a three-set win on court two (0-6, 6-3, 6-3) to give the Bulldogs their second point after three singles matches. Henry Patten (6-2, 6-4) and Brett Landau (6-4, 6-4) delivered two more wins on courts four and five to give Asheville the victory.

On the match- “Good win for the Bulldogs today. App is a good team and they jumped on us quickly to grab the doubles point, but our guys responded really well in singles. We know we have a lot of work to do this week before a tough couple of matches at home next weekend.”
