Bulldogs Travel to Liberty for Two Day Dual Meet

LYNCHBURG, V.A. – The UNC Asheville Women's Swimming team goes on the road to Lynchburg this Saturday, January 16 for a two-day conference dual meet with Liberty University.
NOTABLES
CCSA: After four conference dual meets, Asheville sits directly in the middle of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association in sixth place of 11 teams with 651.9 points. Liberty is in fourth place in the CCSA with 683.2 points. Florida Gulf Coast is currently leading the league 786.3 points.
Season of Firsts: This will be the first dual meet with Liberty in Bulldog program history. Last year at the CCSA Championships, the Flames finished in second place with 834 points. Asheville, in their third year as a program, had their highest conference finish in seventh place. This will also be the Bulldogs' first two-day dual meet in program history.
Rising to the Occasion: Earlier this season on November 19, the Bulldogs competed at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational and produced fast swims in multiple events. Of Asheville's 108 Top Times in 18 events this season, 84 of them came from the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational.
For the Long Haul: Asheville has four swimmers ranked in the 1650 yard freestyle, the longest event featured in the CCSA. Senior Galen Broido, leads her team ranked sixth in conference with a time of 17:13.96. She's joined by Allison Snyder (17:57.47) ranked 18th, Brittany Thomas (18:28.50) ranked 29th and Abigail Cassario (18:38.24) ranked 30th.

UP NEXT
- Following this weekend's dual meet, Asheville returns home to face North Carolina A&T on January 30 at 4:00 p.m. in their last regular season meet before the CCSA Championships. Their dual meet with NC A&T will also be the Bulldog's senior day, where they will honor the program's first two seniors to swim for four years at Asheville, Galen Broido and Alessandra Troncoso.
