ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team posted two first half goals on the way to a 3-0 Big South Conference victory over Presbyterian College in the rain Wednesday night.
THE TURNING POINT
The Bulldogs jumped on the board early with Courtney Naber's goal in the ninth minute. Asheville controlled the first half and added a second goal in the 30th minute to take a two-goal lead into the break.
NOTABLES
-Courtney Naber and Paige Trent each had a hand in two goals. Trent assisted Naber's goal and also Caroline Houser's goal in the 30th minute, while Naber added an assist on Justine James' second half goal.
-James' goal in the 69th minute was the freshman's team-leading sixth goal of the season for Asheville.
-Bulldog goalkeeper Lily Brown recorded five saves in the win.
-Presbyterian recorded seven corner kicks, including five in the second half, in the loss.
