Men's and Women's Tennis Travel to Campbell

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's and women's tennis programs will travel to Buies Creek on Saturday to face the Campbell Camels at 10:00 a.m. at the James Nisbet Tennis Center.

 

The Asheville men enter the match with a record of 10-6 overall and 2-4 in league play and are coming off a loss at Presbyterian College on Wednesday.  The Camels own an 11-8 mark for the year and are 4-2 in Big South Conference matches after defeating East Carolina on Wednesday.

 

Daniel Kripak has stepped up his game at the top flight for the Bulldogs, winning his last three matches to improve his overall record to 10-6 this season in dual matches.  Junior Alex Croker (10-4) joins Kripak with double-digit victories in singles play.   

 

The doubles team of Brett Landau and Croker lead the Blue & White with a 9-6 record for the season.  Thomas Panoulas has the best individual record in doubles play with a 10-5 mark.

 

The women's match will feature the 12-4 Bulldogs coming off a home loss to Charleston Southern on Monday.  Asheville is 2-3 in league play this season and will face a 9-8 Campbell club which boasts a 4-4 record in conference play.

 

Senior Emily McNall has the highest winning percentage (.769) for the Blue & White with a 10-3 record in dual matches and a 4-1 mark at the top flight.  Freshman Amalie Davidsen has tallied the most singles victories (11) for Asheville this season.

 

Christine Boissevain and Lauren Brooker lead the way for the Bulldogs in doubles actions.  The duo is 12-3 overall this season playing mainly at the second flight.

 

Both teams will finish out the remainder of the season on the road, before returning to Asheville to host the 2015 Big South Championship which will be held April 15-21.
