Coastal Carolina Downs Bulldogs 13-3

ASHEVILLE,N.C. – David Parrett went 5-for-5 from the plate as Coastal Carolina downed UNC Asheville 13-3 in the second game of their three-game series at Greenwood Field on Saturday afternoon.

Hunter Bryant led the Bulldogs at the plate with two solo home runs. He now leads Asheville with five round-trippers.

The victory by the Chanticleers (16-6, 2-0 BSC) was their sixth straight. Asheville fell to 10-12 overall and 1-4 in the Big South.

Parrett had a home run, a double and two RBIs for Coastal to spark the Chants' 14-hit attack.

Kyle Towles added an RBI-single for Asheville in the first inning. Bryant hit solo home runs in the second and seventh innings.

CCU starter Austin Kerr (4-0) limited the Bulldogs to just four hits in five innings of work. Reliever Mike Morrison held the Dogs to just one hit over three innings of relief.

G.K. Young had three hits and three RBIs for Coastal. THe Chants hit four home runs in the game, including a three-run homer from Josh Crump.

The teams will play the third and final game of the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
