Women's Soccer Signs Deep, Talented Class

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Head Coach Michelle Demko has signed a deep, talented group that will join the UNC Asheville women's soccer program next fall.
“I am thrilled and excited for these new Bulldogs to be joining our program in 2015. These players recognize it's an exciting time to be part of Asheville soccer,” said head coach Michelle Demko. Everything from their belief in our culture, their desire to be in an environment where they will thrive on the field, the classroom and our community says a lot about our current players and what they give to this program daily.”
Athleticism, speed and versatility have been used to describe the incoming group which boast multiple All-Conference, All-Region and All-State selections at the High School level as well as a State Player of the Year, through just their junior years. At the club level, there are multiple state champions in the class and tournament champions who will bring a winning background to the program.
“People who watch us next year will notice more overall team speed, athleticism, versatility and depth from this incredibly talented class,” said Demko. “I am excited for people to witness what I have known about our current team along with these incoming freshmen which is that their will to win collectively far exceeds that of any other Bulldog team I have coached here in five years. This truly will be a special group with the ability to play with anyone on our schedule. Players and staff recognize there is much work still to be done but we all also embrace that and allow that to be our driving force toward success.”
Recruiting is a long and tenuous process and coach Demko wanted to recognize her assistant coach for his work during the process. “I want to recognize Coach Sasvari and his efforts in bringing one of our strongest recruiting classes to campus. He does a great job in helping our program continue to climb toward our vision of championship level.”
