Women's Tennis Earns 4-3 League Win over Radford

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville women's tennis team started league play with a 4-3 victory over the Radford Highlanders on Saturday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club.

Coach Lise Gregory's Bulldogs remained unbeaten for the season, moving to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in Big South league play. ?The Highlanders fall to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in conference.

Asheville grabbed an early lead by taking the doubles point.? Erika Rivero and Emily McNall grabbed an 8-2 victory at No. 1, while Christine Boissevain and Lauren Brooker won 8-3 at the second flight.

The Bulldogs secured the win in singles play with wins at No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6.? On court two, McNall down Taylor Newman 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.? Amalie Davidsen topped Grace Sarver 6-2, 7-5 at the fifth flight and Hunter Hall defeated Meg Napolitano, 6-2, 6-4.

The Highlanders grabbed points at the top flight as Natalie Sayer beat Rivero 6-1, 6-1.? Gemma Valls topped Ameryn Soldier, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 and Taylor Fay won at No. 4 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 against Boissevain.
