Swimming Wraps up Day Two at Georgia Tech

ATLANTA - The UNC Asheville women's swimming team finished out its second day of competition Friday at the Georgia Tech Invitational inside the McAuley Aquatic Center and swam several season and lifetime bests. The Bulldogs conclude the three-day event Saturday.
FRIDAY RESULTS
"We will continue to race hard on day three. Some of our best events are tomorrow and the team is swimming well," head coach Elizabeth Lykins said. "We look forward to wrapping up this meet with a few more records and best times."
In the 200 yard medley relay, the quartet of freshman Jessica Woolfe, senior Alessandra Troncoso, junior Alexandra van Dorsten, and freshman Morgan Rulevich finished 11th with a time of 1:46.38.
Asheville saw two swimmers move up the leaderboard in the 400 yard individual medley. Senior Galen Broido moved up to 22nd with a time of 4:30.89, recording her best time in the event since her freshman season. Sophomore Stephanie Smith swam a lifetime best time of 4:34.11 while moving up to 27th place.
Rulevich climbed to 27th in the 100 yard breaststroke finals, recording a season-best time of 1:05.57. Troncoso finished just behind her fellow Bulldog in the event, swimming the 100 breast in 1:05.83 to finish 29th.
The 800 yard freestyle relay team of Rulevich, sophomore Ale Sanchez, van Dorsten and Broido finished in 11th with a time of 7:45.65.
In the time trial of the 50 yard freestyle, sophomore Shannon Kennedy turned in a lifetime best time of 25.05.
Two Bulldogs recorded lifetime bests in a time trial for the 100 yard breaststroke. Sophomore Carly Emerson swam the event in 1:09.56 while junior Emily Sawyer finished with a time of 1:10.52.
