Swimming Concludes Day One at Georgia Tech Invite

ATLANTA - The UNC Asheville women's swimming team wrapped up day one of competition at the Georgia Tech Invitational Thursday. The three-day event continues Friday from the McAuley Aquatic Center. 

 

THURSDAY RESULTS

 

"The team showed up this morning and swam great with many lifetime and season bests," head coach Elizabeth Lykins said.T"onight it was nice to again see all of their hard work thus far in the season pay off. We are looking forward to Friday's events with many more swims for the Bulldogs."

 

Senior Galen Broido moved up from 30th to finish 22nd in the 500 yard freestyle, finishing with a season-best time of 5:01.82. 

 

The 200 yard freestyle relay team of freshman Jessica Woolfe, junior Reid Jackson, junior Alex van Dorsten and freshman Morgan Rulevich set a new program record, swimming the event in 1:36.42.

 

The Bulldogs set another season-best time in the 400 yard medley relay, as the quartet of sophomore Ale Sanchez, senior Alessandra Troncoso, van Dorsten and Rulevich finished with a time of 3:55.57.
