Comeback Falls Short, Bulldogs Drop Heartbreaker Friday Night

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – A huge comeback effort by the UNC Asheville volleyball team fell just short Friday night, as the Bulldogs rallied from two sets down before falling to High Point 3-2 in Big South Conference action inside the Justice Center.
THE TURNING POINT
The Bulldogs forced a fifth set after coming back and winning sets three and four, but in the fifth set High Point used a comeback of their own and finished the match on an 8-1 run to get the road victory.
NOTABLES
-Asheville finished with three players having double-digit kills – Chrissy Lakatos (16), Catherine Fischer (13) and Shelby Erickson (13).
-Katie Davis passed out 44 of the Bulldogs' 60 total assists in the loss.
-The final set turned out to be Asheville's worst set attacking percentage of the night (.037). High Point tallied only a .065 mark in the third set as the Bulldogs were able to begin their comeback attempt.
-The Bulldogs are now 2-2 in five set matches this season.
-Asheville is now 30-7 all-time against High Point but has lost the last two matchups in the series.
