CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team now knows its postseason path as the Bulldogs are the No. 6 seed in the Big South Women's Soccer Championship and will face No. 3 Campbell on Sunday in the tournament's opening round.

Asheville fell on the road at Campbell 5-1 back on September 27 in Buies Creek. Paige Trent scored the lone Bulldog goal in the contest, assisted by Caroline Houser. Sunday's postseason contest will kickoff at 3:00 p.m. and will be available on the Big South Network.

Sunday's meeting will be the first-ever postseason matchup between the Bulldogs and Camels. Asheville is 5-7-3 all-time in the BSC Quarterfinals and owns an overall Big South tournament record of 12-13-7 with a pair of tournament championships (1996, 2005). The last Bulldog postseason win came in the quarterfinals of the 2007 Big South tournament when Asheville defeated Charleston Southern in penalty kicks.

For the second consecutive season, the Liberty Flames finished as the Big South women's soccer regular-season champion and earned the No. 1 seed in the Championship with an 8-2-0 conference record and 24 points. Coastal Carolina finished second with a 7-2-1 mark for 22 points, while Campbell earned the No. 3 seed by finishing at 7-3-0 and 21 points. High Point garnered the fourth seed with 19 points as they finished with a 6-3-1 record. Each of the top four seeds will host a quarterfinal-round game this weekend.

Longwood is the No. 5 seed, as they posted a 5-3-2 mark for 17 points. Charleston Southern and Asheville each finished with a 4-6-0 record and 12 points. The Bulldogs are the No. 6 seed and CSU is seeded seventh as a result of a head-to-head tiebreaker. Asheville defeated the Bucs 1-0 on October 7 in Asheville. A tiebreaker was also needed to decide the eighth and final seed. Winthrop and Gardner-Webb finished with 11 points and a 3-5-2 record, and WU is the No. 8 seed due to a 2-1 victory over GWU on September 26.

The 2015 Big South Women's Soccer Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites this weekend before moving to Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C. for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 6 and 8. The quarterfinals and semifinals will air on the Big South Network, while the final will be shown on ESPN3. The Big South's tournament champion receives and automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament.
