Hunter Bryant Earns CPL First Team Honors

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville senior first baseman Hunter Bryant was named to the Coastal Plain League's 2014 All-CPL First Team.

 

Hunter enjoyed an excellent summer for the Forest City Owls and helped lead the team to the playoffs. Bryant was one of the top hitters in the league across the board. His 101 total bases led the Coastal Plain League. His nine homers was second in the league and 38 RBIs was third best in the circuit. He led the league in total plate appearances with 232 and his 201 at bats was third. He was fifth in slugging percentage (.502) and total hits (60).

 

Hunter had a .299 batting average which was fourth best on the Owls. He was the only Forest City player to play in every game this year.

 

In addition, Bryant was named to the 2014 Perfect Game Summer Collegiate All-American Honorable Mention team. Perfect Game looks at all the summer leagues in the nation to make their selections.
