Men's Tennis Loses to Winthrop, 5-2

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Winthrop captured five singles matches en route to a 5-2 Big South Conference win over homestanding UNC Asheville Sunday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club.
The Bulldogs (7-10, 1-5 BSC) stunned the Eagles in doubles action as Asheville won two matches to pick up a 1-0 lead. Alex Croker and Brett Landau clinched the match at #1 flight by edging Dylan Comerford and Peter Nagovnak, 8-7. Josh Swindler and Daniel Kripak won the other doubles match by downing Yuta Hirokawa and Michael Chen, 8-4 at #3 flight
Kripak was the lone Bulldog to win at singles as he rallied past Hirokawa at #1 flight, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0.
Asheville will host Gardner-Webb in its final home match of the year on Thursday starting at 2 p.m.
