JACKSONVILLE, Ala. ? Jacksonville State placed four players in double figures as the Gamecocks edged UNC Asheville, 64-55 Tuesday? night at Mathews Coliseum.

David Robertson led Asheville (4-6) with 18 points. Andrew Rowsey was held to a season-low six points. He was plagued by foul trouble as he picked up his fourth foul early in the second half. Rowsey had scored in double figures in 37 straight games. ?Marcus Neely came off the bench to score a career-high nine points and six rebounds.

Darion Rackley led JSU (7-4) with 16 points. D.J. Felder added 11 points for the home team. JaQuail Townser and Jeremy Watson finished with 10 points each.

Asheville trailed 50-40 with eight minutes left but rallied behind Robertson to close to 54-52 on a Robertson lay-up with 2:30 left. The Bulldogs got a stop and had a chance to take the lead but Rowsey's trey came up short.

The Gamecocks put the game away at the free throw line. JSU was 10-of-10 from the charity stripe in the final two minutes.

Asheville was dominated on the boards as the Gamecocks held a 47-29 advantage. JSU had 16 offensive rebounds to eight for the Bulldogs. ?

Jacksonville State controlled most of the first half. The Bulldogs scored a season-low 27 points in the opening half and trailed 33-27 at intermission.

Asheville shot just 36 percent (9-of-25) from the field in the first half, while the Gamecocks shot 50 percent (12-of-24). The home team out-rebounded the Dogs, 21-13 and had 10 second-chance points to just two for the visitors.

Robertson had eight points in the first half. Felder led JSU with nine points.
