FARMVILLE, Va. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team heads to Longwood on Saturday for a Big South Conference road match with the Lancers starting at 7 p.m.

Saturday's match can be seen for free on the Big South Digital Network and can be accessed at uncabulldogs.com under the multimedia tag.

The Bulldogs (9-7-1, 3-4-1 BSC) have won three of their last four matches and are trying to improve on their current seventh-place position in the Big South standings. Asheville has 10 points and is two points ahead of Longwood (7-7-3, 2-4-2 BSC). The top eight teams go to the Big South Conference Tournament and the regular season will end early next week. Asheville finishes the regular season at home Tuesday against Gardner-Webb at Greenwood Field starting at 5 p.m.

Michelle Demko's club picked up a huge win last Saturday afternoon at Greenwood Field when the Bulldogs slipped past Big South-leading Coastal Carolina, 1-0. Freshman forward Caroline Houser scored late in the second half to give Asheville its first win over the Chanticleers in nine years. Heather Muller stopped nine shots to earn the shutout.

The Bulldogs look to have better luck against Longwood than they've had in the past few years. The Lancers have won the last two meetings against the teams by a score of 4-0. Longwood has won two of its last three matches. They fell at home to Big South-leading Liberty, 1-0 Wednesday night.

Senior midfielder Amanda Dailor has enjoyed a solid season for the Blue & White. She is tied for the team lead in points with 16. Dailor currently has eight assists and needs just two more to set a single-season school record. Caroline Houser leads Asheville in goals scored with six and has also registered 16 points.

Senior goalkeeper Heather Muller has played well for the Bulldogs this season and posted four shutouts, three in league play and all by 1-0 scores.
