ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team is home Saturday afternoon as the Bulldogs look to knock off Big South co-leader Coastal Carolina at Greenwood Field starting at 2 p.m.

Saturday's match will be video-streamed and can be seen for free on the Big South Network at uncabulldogs.com under the multimedia tag.

Asheville (8-7-1, 2-4-1 BSC) is coming off a 2-1 loss at High Point Wednesday night. The Chanticleers (8-5-2, 5-0-1 BSC) share first place in the league with defending champion Liberty. CCU downed Campbell at home earlier this week, 2-0. The Chants will bring a seven-game unbeaten streak into Greenwood Field Saturday.

“Heading into our game against Coastal Carolina I feel good about our movement and shape. The players are on board and as committed as they have ever been. They understand their role on both sides of the ball and there is a willingness to do the work required for each other and this program,” stated Bulldog coach Michelle Demko. “Coastal Carolina moves the ball very well so we will need to be patient, make sure we are communicating between our lines and remaining compact.”

Senior midfielder Amanda Dailor is Asheville's top scorer with four goals, eight assists and 16 points. She needs two more assists to set a single-season school. Kaitlyn Eckert holds the record with nine assists set in the 2012 season. Her 0.50 per game average leads the Big South Conference. Freshman Caroline Houser has five goals and 14 points, while Paige Trent has tallied five goals with 12 points.

Senior goalkeeper Heather Muller has been great between the pipes for the Blue & White. She has three shutouts on the year with a 1.71 goals-against-average. Her 77 saves leads the Big South in that category.

Asheville is looking for its first win against CCU since a 4-0 win in the 2005 season. The Bulldogs have lost their last eight matches to the Chanticleers, including a 5-0 loss last year.

After Saturday's game, UNC Asheville has just two matches left in the regular season as the Bulldogs play at Longwood next Saturday (Oct. 25) night and then complete the campaign vs. Gardner-Webb on Oct. 28.
