ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team takes a break from Big South Conference action this afternoon when the Bulldogs host South Carolina State at Greenwood Field starting at 5 p.m. Admission is $5.

The Bulldogs (7-6-1) are coming off a thrilling 1-0 league victory over Radford Saturday afternoon. Today's match is a make-up game that has been postponed twice due to weather conditions.

The match is scheduled to be broadcast on the Big South Network, and fans can watch it for free under the multimedia tag at uncabulldogs.com.

Asheville was scheduled to play S.C. State on Sept. 5 and Sept. 29 but both times the matches had to be postponed due to weather.  SCSU is 1-10-0 on the season but has lost a lot of one-goal matches this year. They edged the Bulldogs last year in Orangeburg, 1-0 on a PK in the second half.

Michelle Demko's team ended a frustrating three-game losing streak with the Radford win on Saturday. Katie Tuorto scored her first career goal 10 minutes into the match as the Bulldogs defeated Radford for the first time since the 2006 season.

The victory was Asheville's seventh of the season and marks the most wins for the Bulldog program since the 2006 season.

Senior midfielder Amanda Dailor assisted on the Tuorto goal. She leads Asheville in points with four goals, five assists for 13 points. Senior goalkeeper Heather Muller earned her third shutout of the season with nine saves.

Today's  match starts a busy week for the Blue & White as the Bulldogs travel to High Point on Wednesday and return home Saturday for a date with Coastal Carolina.
