ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Tennessee Tech won two singles matches in three sets and earned the doubles point as the Golden Eagles edged UNC Asheville 4-3 in men's tennis action Saturday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
The Bulldogs (6-6) picked up singles victories from Matt Waissen, Jonas Brobeck and Thomas Rees. Waissen won at #2 flight as he outlasted Alex Chen, 7-5, 7-6. Jonas Brobeck won at #3 as his opponent retired due to injury. Rees won at #4 flight as he rallied past Vashil Eremeen, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Tennessee Tech (2-7) was able to get three-set victories at #1 flight and #5 flight to earn the victory.
Asheville hosts Southern Conference power Furman Tuesday (March 20) afternoon at 3 p.m.
