ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team had five wins in singles and earned the doubles point as the Bulldogs downed Wofford 6-1 Sunday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club.

Asheville (3-3) was led by Jonas Brobeck. He won his fifth straight singles match of the year in three sets to help the Bulldogs win their second straight match and third in the last four matches.

"We played some very good tennis today against a tough Wofford team," commented Bulldog assistant coach Tom Hand. "All of the matches in both doubles and singles were matches we had to work hard to win and most of the time we found a way to win key points at crucial times."

Asheville also earned singles wins from Adrien Langeard, Matt Waissen, Tom Rees and John Schubel. All came in straight sets.

The Bulldogs took the doubles point as the #1 team of Brobeck and Waissen won 8-2. Asheville's #2 team of Langeard and Rees clinched the point with an 8-3 win.

The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday morning at the ARC when they'll host Augusta State College at 11 a.m.
