Women's Tennis Stuns Davidson 4-3

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team picked up a historic victory to open the 2012 season as the Bulldogs knocked off Davidson for the first time in school history, 4-3.
Asheville earned the doubles points with the Bulldogs getting wins from their #1 and #3 doubles team to post a 1-0 lead. The #1 flight of Emily McNall and Christine Boissevain won their match 8-3. Amryn Soldier and Jenna Dodge got the key doubles point with an 8-5 win.
In singles play, Zoe Hamel earned a victory at the #1 flight. The key match came at #4 flight where freshman Christine Boissevain went three sets to defeat Katharine Discusin. She won the match , 6-3, 4-6 and then won the tie-breaker, 9-7.
Asheville plays next at North Carolina Central on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
