CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Sophomore sprinter Milan Ristic set a school record twice and finished second in the 60-meter hurdles to highlight UNC Asheville's performance at the Dick Taylor Invitational this weekend at UNC Chapel Hill.

"We had some nice performances this weekend," commented Bulldog coach Jesse Norman. "Our teams faced some stiff competition but overall came out very well. We're looking to build on this as the season goes on."

Ristic set a new school record in the hurdles in the qualifiers with a time of 8.06. The record didn't last long as in the finals; he improved his time of 8.05 and finished in second place.

"I'm really happy for Milan," declared Norman. "He's someone who has worked so hard to get better and his results have been quite encouraging so far this year."

On the women's side, Sarah Gentry set a school record in the 600 meters as she posted a time of 1:36. She finished in third place.

Emma Bussard set a new PR in the mile with a time of 5:09 and took third place. Kylie Smith (5:33) and Rachel Carson (5:36) finished 12th and 15th respectively.
