Gentry and Ristic Finish in First Place at Big South Meet

Gentry posted a time of 2:11.40 in the 800 meters, setting a school record in the process. The junior from Plano, Texas has enjoyed an outstanding season.
"Sarah has run very well for us this year and we're very proud of her performance this weekend," stated Asheville coach Jesse Norman.
Ristic posted another school-record in 60-meter hurdles. He finished first with a time of 7.91. He also competed in the 200 meters and came in seventh with a time of 22.08.
"Milan has really had an outstanding indoor season and today was a cap to that season," declared Norman. "We're looking forward to seeing what he can do in the outdoor season, and we have him for two more years."
Other highlights on the day included some good results in the 3000 meters on the women's side. Emma Bussard took fourth (10:16), while Melanie Kulesz (10:17) was right behind her in fifth place.
Bussard earned two points for the Bulldogs in the 5000 meters as she came in seventh place with a time of 17:59.
Meredith Foster came in fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters.
Asheville got points from two of its relay teams. The distance medley team took fifth (12:25), while the 4x400 team came in eighth place (4:00).
The men's team enjoyed some highlights in the field events. Cameron Howard came in eighth in the high jump at 1.80 meters. Kurt Hibert had a throw of 15.50 meters in the weight throw and also came in eighth place.
John Bullard took ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.12 meters.
The women's team finished in fifth place with 30 points. The men's team came in ninth place with 13.5 points.
Asheville had an individual make the All-Academic team for each sport. Rachel Carson earned a spot on the women's team, while Kurt Hibert made the men's team.
