ASHEVILLE, N.C. -The UNC Asheville women's soccer team guns for its second straight victory this afternoon when the Bulldogs invade East Tennessee State for a 1 p.m.

Asheville (1-7-0) on the season picked up its first victory of the season last Sunday with an impressive 5-1 triumph over South Carolina State. Amanda Knapp led the Bulldog attack with two goals and two assists. She was named Big South Attacker of the Week for her efforts.

"That win has really made us feel a little more confident and our training sessions have been great this week," stated Asheville coach Michelle Demko. "We've been playing a little better as the season has progressed and it was nice to get a win last Sunday. We'd like to try and get some more starting on Sunday at ETSU."

The Bulldogs fell to the Lady Bucs last year at home 4-1. ETSU has posted a 5-3 record on the season and has won five of its last seven contests.

Asheville will open Big South Conference play Thursday at VMI.
