ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Eastern Kentucky got goals from four different players en route to a 4-0 victory over homestanding UNC Asheville Friday afternoon in women's collegiate soccer action at Greenwood Field.

The Colonels (2-3-0) won their second straight match with the victory, while the Bulldogs (0-3-0) remained winless on the young season.

Asheville fired seven shots in the second half as freshman Kaitlyn Eckert had four shots with three on goal. Goalkeeper Heather Muller made five saves for the home team.

EKU broke on top early when Kristan Painter scored off a pass from Paige Larkin. Painter hit a shot from five yards out at the 1:57 mark to give the Colonels a 1-0 lead.

Devon Saini connected from 10 yards out off a pass from Nicole Donnelly at 16:53 to push the lead to 2-0.

The Colonels used a corner kick to pad the margin to 3-0. Sydney Montgomery's corner was headed in by Lauren Fant at the 22:25 mark.

Asheville battled through the early EKU attack and settled down as it did not allow the Colonels to score again in the first half.

In the second half, the Bulldogs controlled the play early and just missed getting on the board as Leilani Halkiotis and Amanda Knapp had shots go just wide.

EKU scored its final goal when Ashley Ryan tallied on a breakaway at the 69:58 mark.

UNC Asheville plays next on Sunday at Wofford starting at 2 p.m.
