Lurie and Gajdosz Lead Summer League Team to Championship

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Two UNC Asheville baseball players helped their summer league team win a championship last weekend.
Jordan Lurie and Grant Gajdosz played for the Gastonia Grizzlies this summer. The duo helped the sixth-seeded Grizzlies capture the Coastal Plain League title last weekend. They knocked off top-seeded Edenton in a double-header, 4-2, 2-0 to claim the championship, 3-0.
Lurie played at shortstop during the year and finished with an impressive .365 average with 12 RBI and nine stolen bases. He led Gastonia in runs scored with 26.
Gajdosz played in the outfield and served as DH for the Grizzlies. He finished with a .261 average with three home runs and 17 RBI. He had 10 doubles and his .399 slugging percentage was second best on the team.
