Short-Handed Women's Tennis Falls to Charleston Southern 6-1

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - A short-handed UNC Asheville women's tennis team with only five players lost to defending Big South Conference regular-season champion Charleston Southern, 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs were without Devon Cavanaugh who could not play due to an injury. Asheville got a singles win from Stephanie Schon. She defeated Marija Dzakovic in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 11-9.
The Bulldogs had to forfeit one singles match and a doubles match to give CSU two points. Asheville's top doubles team of Britney Cloer and Stephanie Schon easily won their match 8-1.
Asheville plays next at future Big South Conference opponent Campbell on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
